The TLP 2844 is a bar code printer using direct thermal printing. With serial, parallel, and USB interfaces, plus an internal or external ZebraNet PrintServer II option for easy connection to your network, the TLP 2844 printer meets a variety of connectivity needs. They are fully compatible with Zebra Programming Language (ZPL II) for seamless integration with other Zebra printers. They also offer ZebraLink real-time connectivity and control for centralized printer management. For superb performance for the price, nothing beats the TLP 2844’s robust combination of economy, "horsepower," and flexibility.

You can print a maximum area of 4.09" width. You can also print at 203 dpi at maximum print speeds of 4" per second. The TLP 2844 comes with 1 MB Flash memory and 512KB SRAM. It handles labels and liners from 1" to 4.25" wide, and ribbons from 1.3" to 4.3" wide. The ribbon is recommended to be at least as wide as the media, and must be wound ink side out.
