One of the critical parts of setting up any router is the selection of the serial cables to connect the router to the serial devices in your network. This is the HSSI (High Speed Serial Interface) Serial cable. It is used in the Cisco 7500 series, Cisco 7000 series and Cisco 4000 series (NP-1HSSI) systems. This cable has an HP-50 male (SCSI) connector on the Cisco end and a DHP-50 male (SCSI) connector on the network end.
