This marine radio is capable of withstanding 30 minutes of submersion at one meter. It provides dual output 1 or 25W power for short and long communication. Additionally, it allows operation of any of the three (US, Canada, International) channel maps established for these areas. With RTCM-SC-101 Digital Selective Calling requirements met, it allows you to send a distress signal at the touch of a button or exchange position informantion with other boats or stations. It also has GPS capability, Tri-Watch, DSC call waiting, instant access to 10 NOAA weather channels, a scan feature, a noise cancelling mircophone, a super large LCD display, illuminated function keys, and an audible tone and visual alarm alert to let you know when threatening weather is nearby. WIth a flush and surface mount kit included, you can choose the best place for you radio. All-in-all, it is great addition to your boating supplies.
